Hi,
Firstly I must confess...the hardest thing was to start this blog. I am by nature a very private, shy person and don't laugh. This statement is true. I am just very good at hiding this aspect of myself.
So I am exposed (don't worry; no nude photos...some stuff belongs in closets). Wow..it is not so bad. Okay.
I have waited approx 7 years to walk El Camino in northern Spain. There was never going to be a perfect time,
but now felt like the right time. My intention is to walk 780 kms starting in St Jean Pied and walk, not cycle, to Santiago. I may go on to Finisterre, but then I'll allow myself the luxury of a bus.
If Air Chance (also known as Air Canada) is still flying then I'll be leaving this Thurs. I arrive in Paris and Day 1 I'll be staying in Bordeaux the 1st night mostly to overcome jet-lag. So I'll keep you posted.
I look forward to a wonderful adventure filled with fascinating and interesting people, lots of history and architecture. Hope my 2 mos of Spanish lessons' kick in '.No, I do not have a translating device. For me this would be just another thing to loose. I am especially good at losing 'such' things. In fact, I spend an inordinate amount of time for looking things. I have more keys than God does to his various kingdoms and I own more bifocals and 'cheaters'. The latter in every room and still I manage to leave home without any of them. So despite the overloaded brain, stuff still 'kicks into gear'. Just hope 'Dutch' isn't the only language to resurface.
I am already there.
Should be heading up the Pyrenees by Saturday if weather cooperates.
